Many people who meet me now are surprised to hear that I was a high school math teacher for 8 years. While I was teaching, my husband and I purchased and remodeled several rental properties. Over the years, we sold those homes, both staged and non-staged, and the non-staged homes took longer to sell. A lot longer.
Over time, we realized that staging might be the key to selling homes faster. It was frustrating to have a great home sit on the market for several months with little to no interest, and we wanted to avoid that in the future.
So we went for it. When I staged my first home for sale, I was a little nervous, but I realized I had a knack for staging, and I loved it. That house sold the first day it was shown, for full price, with less than a week on the market! I decided then I’d never sell another home without staging it first. So it began, my appreciation of staging and my commitment to telling people about the wonders of staging when they need to sell their homes.
I have known what it’s like to have a house sit on the market for too long, eating up time, money, and headspace. It is a stressful place to be, when you’re ready to move on but you’re tied down to an asset you’d rather let go of. I want to help alleviate that stress for as many people as possible, so that they can move on too.
Today…
When I’m not in the process of staging homes, you can find me at home with my husband and four children. When I am left to my own devices, I love to drink coffee and read a book - outside in my rocking chair if the weather is nice, indoors in my oversized chair if it’s not. I am passionate about running, eating well, learning new things, and spending time with those I love.
